PRESCHOOL/CHILDCARE
CURRICULUM:
TODDLERS
The toddlers' class is meant to
be an extension of home. The classroom
environment is maintained to allow
the young child to grow, explore,
and develop independence in a safe,
nurturing atmosphere.
Play and work are one. "Work"
is individually and developmentally
appropriate and includes:
- Blocks and building materials
- Music: instruments, dance, singing
- Climbing and hiding
- Dress-up and make-believe
- Housekeeping (dishes, pretend
food, babies, etc.)
- Puzzles
- Reading books
- Finger plays
- Coloring and painting
- Sand and water play
Directed group experiences include:
- Singing and movement
- Calendar
- Finger plays
- Stories
The day's schedule is divided into
inside and outside activities.
